Machine Description
Knox Kershaw Yard Cleaner, Model KYC 550 clears track and shoulders as well as space between the track on multitrack lines including points and crossings. The KYC 550 Yard Cleaner is capable of sweeping and loading up to 2.66 cubic yards of waste material per minute. After a single pass, the track, including fasteners, is completely cleared of any unwanted material. The machine is capable of clearing the entire tie width as well as shoulders for total path width of just under 15 feet.
Cummins QSB6.7, 240 hp, Tier 3 engine with electronic engine warning system and external oil drain. 4-7/16” solid steel-alloy axles, all 4-wheel drive. Air brakes applied to all wheels. Additional air system for optional tag axle brakes. An arrangement of a hydrostatic, pressure compensated, and gear pumps supply the propel, valve banks, and motors throughout the machine with adequate flow and pressure.
